"Well, my concern level is very high for this football team," Vrabel stated.

Vrabel detailed several areas requiring improvement, but the paramount concern revolved around ball security. He underscored that unless Maye can prevent turnovers, other team issues would remain secondary.

"We have to take care of the football," Vrabel emphasized. "We can't, we can't force things ... I think he knows what to do. You know what I mean? I think we have to do it better, you know? And again, we all want to make plays. We just have to make them good ones. And, if it's not there, we got to make a great decision."

The coach's remarks highlighted a clear expectation for sound decision-making, which, by implication, excludes giving possession to the opposing team.

Maye Acknowledges Personal Accountability Amidst Turnovers

Maye's decision-making has been under scrutiny, with Sunday's three turnovers becoming an increasingly familiar pattern this season. "The ball starts rolling like that, we can't get out our own way," Maye admitted. "I can't get out of my own way personally. So, I got to look myself in the mirror and take this as a turning point. You know, it's Week 3. We got to, you have some fuel and realize that what we're doing out there offensively is unacceptable – unacceptable for three weeks."

Maye's willingness to confront the issue head-on is seen as a positive sign of leadership, even at 24 years old.

"I got to start with myself and then lead these guys and we got to get back after it," he affirmed.

Teammate Support and Future Challenges

With the Patriots holding a 1-2 record, questions about Maye's standing within the locker room have already begun to surface. However, teammates are publicly backing their quarterback.

Cornerback Christian Gonzalez voiced unwavering support for Maye.

"Everybody in that locker room and the organization and in the building believes in him and that's really all that matters," Gonzalez stated. "Obviously, he wants to perform and do that for his team. So, with Drake, we're behind him. That's our quarterback. Like I said, this team goes and we ride behind him. So that's our guy and that ain't changing."

"I mean, listen, the NFL is hard," Archuleta commented. "... They're going to have to play their way out of this. And Drake Maye is going to have to play his way out of this."
