French Protests Fuel Global 'Chaos Inc.' Narrative, Linked to International Communist Networks
Recent widespread demonstrations across France are being framed by a global network of communist and socialist organizations as part of a transnational rebellion.

Amid the convergence of fervent student demonstrations and a broader national uprising in France on Saturday, academic and communist figure Vijay Prashad publicly embraced the turmoil, drawing connections to protest movements spanning three continents.
Prashad utilized the social media platform X to declare, "Paris-New Delhi-Buenos Aires," echoing a sentiment from the British punk group The Clash: "Let fury have the hour, anger can be power."
Prashad's statements gained significance not only from their content but also from his position as executive director of Tricontinental Ltd. This nonprofit organization receives funding from Neville Roy Singham, an American-born Marxist technology entrepreneur residing in Shanghai.
This message underscored how the disturbances in France have been integrated into a broader international narrative of dissent, characterized by some as a "Chaos, Inc." phenomenon. This narrative is actively promoted by a transnational network of communist and socialist groups spanning Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, North America, and South America.
International Network Behind the Unrest
An analysis of the protest landscape in October revealed 54 distinct organizations. Only 16 of these, approximately one-third, were student or youth-focused entities, such as various communist youth associations and a Muslim student group. The remaining 38 organizations comprised adult-led communist collectives, trade unions, political parties, revolutionary-left factions, advocacy organizations, and global propaganda platforms.
Among these groups are the Gilets jaunes, commonly known as the "Yellow Vests," a radical far-left movement prominent in leading demonstrations alongside other organizations over the recent weekend. Also involved is the far-left socialist political party La France Insoumise (LFI), translated as France Unbowed.
From the initial stages, various far-left socialist and communist entities played a role in organizing and magnifying France's student uprising. They reportedly leveraged concerns regarding educational conditions as a foundation to rally broader political opposition to capitalism, governmental austerity measures, police actions, and military expenditures.
The situation in France appears to be contributing to an expansion of this "Chaos Inc." dynamic, signaling potential further unrest.
Amplifying the Global Rebellion
Organizations within the Singham network are notable international promoters of this disorder. These include Tricontinental, an entity named after a 1966 communist convention held in Havana, Cuba; CodePink; and BreakThrough News, a media outlet based in New York. BreakThrough News prominently featured coverage of the weekend's disturbances in France under the headline: "ANTI-MACRON PROTESTS ROCK FRANCE."
This outlet disseminated a compilation of tumultuous scenes from cities such as Montpellier, Paris, Marseille, Bordeaux, Strasbourg, and Saint-Étienne. The footage depicted activists shrouded in smoke, Palestinian flags visible among the assembled crowds, dark smoke rising from fires, and law enforcement officers engaging demonstrators with batons. Editors at the outlet overlaid a dramatic musical score, and their video content also featured public figures from the far-left socialist political party, La France Insoumise (LFI).
During an interview with BreakThrough News, Jodie Evans, who is married to Singham and co-founded CodePink—a far-left group he financed—discussed an upcoming November campaign in Washington aimed at opposing U.S. military expenditures.
Evans explicitly referenced youth demonstrations occurring internationally, specifically mentioning France, Spain, and India, as she encouraged American citizens to join CodePink's planned initiative.
I want people to look at France, Spain, and India,
Evans stated, issuing a call for Americans to engage in street protests.
