“Harry Potter” Actress Jessie Cave Reveals OnlyFans Earnings Surpassed Her Entire Film Career
Actress Jessie Cave, known for her role as Lavender Brown, disclosed that her income from the subscription platform OnlyFans has significantly exceeded her earnings from years in the acting industry.

Jessie Cave, known for her role in the beloved "Harry Potter" film series, has publicly shared how engaging with the subscription-based social media platform OnlyFans provided crucial financial stability for her and her family.
During a recent discussion with The Times, the 39-year-old actress revealed that her earnings from OnlyFans over a single year have "earned more, easily, than my entire acting career within one year."
Reflecting on her initial foray into the platform, Cave stated, "I thought I’d make five grand, be on it for a few months and it would buy me time to work out what we’re going to do." However, the venture proved far more successful than anticipated. "But it’s now been over a year and a half, and it’s genuinely saved our lives," she added.
Cave gained widespread recognition playing Lavender Brown in the final three installments of the "Harry Potter" franchise, appearing in films released between 2009 and 2011. Her career also includes guest appearances in productions such as "Black Mirror" and "Industry," alongside various stage performances.
A Desperate Turn to a New Platform
The decision to join OnlyFans stemmed from a period of intense financial strain. After facing a rejection following a callback audition, Cave found herself in a challenging position, needing to support her four children whom she shares with her fiancé, Alfie Brown. She described this juncture as "a point of complete desperation."
Explaining her limited options at the time, Cave remarked, "I couldn’t go and, say, work in a supermarket because I can’t afford the childcare, and, also, I don’t want people shouting Harry Potter spells at me as I work at Tesco." She further noted the impracticality of professional retraining, stating, "I could retrain, but I can’t afford to do a degree. I had a breakdown, and I thought, ‘That’s it with acting, I give up.’ But, also, we have no money."
According to The Times report, Cave once accumulated approximately $20,200 in a single day through the platform.
Creative Expression and Empowerment
When producing content for OnlyFans, Cave adheres to a specific guiding principle: "hair is the main character." This approach, she explained, helps her rationalize the work. While acknowledging that OnlyFans is "largely porn," she also highlighted the platform's diverse offerings, including "cooking videos, tarot readings, personal training — it’s just all done with a sexy edge."
Her engagement with the platform is also driven by a desire for recognition. She expressed, "It is about wanting some kind of gaze." Cave elaborated on feeling overlooked after becoming a mother to four children: "After having four kids and feeling invisible for so long, that was really appealing to me." This contrasts with her usual public image, where she is often seen wearing "baggy T-shirts on stage," has "never posted a bikini shot," and dons "huge glasses," having long been perceived as a "quirky figure."
Cave anticipates that more artists may increasingly explore "other platforms to make money when they’re not being an artist."
She initially addressed her decision to launch an OnlyFans account in March 2025 through a post on her personal Substack page, outlining her objectives. "I’ll try for one year," Cave wrote. "My aim? To get the house safe, cover the arsenic/lead wallpaper, build a new roof etc. My aim? To get out of debt. My aim? To empower myself? To prove to those in the past who have misjudged me that I’m not so sweet? To put time into something I never invested in before: self-love."
