Senator Coons, 62, confirmed he was a passenger in one of the vehicles involved in the crash and was subsequently transported to Beebe Hospital for medical evaluation and treatment. He has since been discharged and anticipates a complete and swift recovery.

In statements shared on X, the social media platform, Coons expressed his gratitude to the first responders who arrived at the scene, as well as the medical professionals at Beebe Hospital. He also conveyed a sense of relief that, based on initial reports, no individuals involved in the crash suffered serious injuries.
"Earlier today, a Delaware driver experienced a medical incident and collided with several cars, including one in which I was a passenger," Coons wrote. "I was transported to Beebe Hospital and treated for minor injuries. I'm now home and expected to make a full and swift recovery."
He further added, "I'm feeling relieved and blessed that by all accounts no one was seriously injured during the crash."
