Former President Donald Trump declared on Wednesday a sweeping new economic offensive targeting Iran, likening the impending operation to an "economic D-Day" and issuing a stern warning to any nation contemplating providing support to Tehran.

In a statement posted on Truth Social, Trump proclaimed the launch of "the MOST CRUSHING ECONOMIC OPERATION EVER TAKEN AGAINST ANY COUNTRY!" He characterized it as "Economic Warfare and Isolation on an unprecedented scale."

He further cautioned that "ANY country that allows its financial institutions, businesses, airports, or government entities to provide any type of lifeline to Iran will itself face TREMENDOUS Economic Consequences." Trump explicitly detailed activities that must cease immediately, including "Oil smuggling, swap lines, cash transfers, exchange houses, ship registries, front companies." He emphasized, "It all needs to stop NOW."

Calling the situation an "ECONOMIC D-DAY," Trump urged, "we need all of our Allies to stand with the United States of America to isolate, and defeat, the Iran threat." He asserted that "These maniacs are on the ropes, and these HISTORIC MEASURES will cripple them and their ability to project terror worldwide."

The former president also offered a stark assessment of Iran's current state, claiming its navy and air force have been "destroyed" and its production facilities reduced to "rubble." He added that Tehran's currency is "worthless" and the nation as a whole is "hanging by a thread."
